My first blog posting!!

I'm excited!! I'm getting more 'savvy' as I get older. Love learning new computer stuff, like blogging. And it sometimes helps to just type to think things through. I think that I think with my fingertips, by typing, and I feel better when I'm through typing. Then you hit delete and no one knows except me.

I went to the McHenry County Fairgrounds on Friday and signed up to enter projects in this year's county fair. I did the county fair thing years ago, when I was a 4-H'r, then I was involved when our kids were in 4H. I started out just wanting to enter a piece of Hardanger. Then saw jewelry, beads. Okay, I've made a few bracelets that I love. So I added jewelry to the list. Then potholders. Okay, I like to knit dishclothes and have made a few potholders along the way. Okay, knit potholders. But wait! I'm trying to start a potholder swap on we_love_30's_fabric. Well, I can make a few potholders. Then I happened to see the word FUDGE jump out at me. Well, patting myself on the back, I think I make some pretty good fudge. So fudge will be entered.

Went with Denise on to the Midwest Fiber fair in Crystal Lake. Love going there. Gives me so much inspiration to keep working on my 'stuff'. I had forgotten about my spinning wheel until I went to this fair 2 years ago. Now I'm getting ready to refurbish the needed parts and start spinning once in a while. That probably won't happen until next year, but at least it's a plan in my brain.

Loved seeing and feeling all the fibers. Alpaca roving is heavenly!! Saw silk worms, met more great people. Talked to Judi Ann from Texas for the 3rd year. She's awesome. Talked with the Oddest Goddess, met her last year. Her craft is taking off. I'm happy for her. Met a lady who does her thing with poly clay. I know just a tiny bit about poly clay, but ready to really start making beads. She showed me her beads, she then sold me 2 of them for $3.00. Beautiful beads, you wouldn't think they were clay just by looking at them.

Then showed Denise the lake in Crystal Lake. She had been there many moons ago. Then we stopped at the local needlework shop in Crystal Lake. I wanted to get some Watercolors thread for my Hardanger project. Well, actually bought thread for 2 projects, but I ended up with having 37 cents change for the whole day. I had a great time!!!

Weather is cold today. At least, cold for July. Temp right now is 64. And it's only 3:25. The 'high' was 67. Very overcast, feels like fall. Had to run the furnace for a bit last night, just to take the chill off the house.

Enough for today. Have stitching and cleaning to do.
